Life-changing roles in an inspiring location
Our first residential service in the Waymark Community provides a small, highly specialised yet homely environment in a spectacular rural setting near Kendal.
Within easy reach of the very best of the Lake District’s natural playground, this home is designed to support 1-2 children who may be in crisis, at risk of placement breakdown, or stepping down from more restrictive settings.
Residential Practitioner – Full Time

To provide high-quality, consistent care and support to young people in a residential setting, promoting their wellbeing, development, and engagement in positive activities, particularly outdoor-based experiences.

£35,000 per year paid monthly (inclusive of sleep-ins)

Provide day-to-day care, support, and supervision to young people
Build positive, trusting relationships and offer emotional support
Promote and participate in outdoor and activity-based programmes
Work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team
Contribute to care planning, reviews, and accurate record keeping
Ensure safe handovers and continuity of care between shifts

3 days on / 6 days off shift pattern
Approximately 50 hours per shift (including sleep-ins)
Combination of active support, sleep-in duties, and structured handovers
Around 16 hours per month dedicated to training, supervision, and team meetings
This role suits individuals who prefer fewer, longer shifts with more days off

15 days annual leave (equivalent to 5 full shifts)
Additional 3 days leave after 5 years’ service
Additional 3 days leave awarded upon completion of NVQ Level 3

Fully funded NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
Monthly supervision and structured training support
£150 per month contribution to your own personal Enrichment Training Budget to spend on any approved training that supports your own relevant interests

Residential Practitioner – Bank

To provide high-quality, consistent care and support to young people in a residential setting, promoting their wellbeing, development, and engagement in positive activities, particularly outdoor-based experiences.
Bank staff are part of our team and support the structured routine we provide for children and young people.

£17 per hour based on 16 hour shifts +£58 sleep-in rate where relevant.
Minimum of one 16 hour shift per month

Promote and participate in outdoor and activity-based programmes
Work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team
Contribute to care planning, reviews, and accurate record keeping

Bank staff are part of our team and the routine we provide for children and young people.
Minimum of one 16hr shift per month

Holiday is accrued pro rata based on the number of hours worked.

Fully funded induction and ongoing mandatory training
Funded Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare where required
